ABOUT ÆTERION
We build the operating layer for autonomous European companies.
ÆTERION is a Swiss tech company. We build BRAIAN, an AI operating system that runs core business processes as governed autonomous workflows. Our mission is to give European companies an operating layer they own: proprietary technology, auditable decisions, and data that stays in Switzerland and the EU.
Mission
Make autonomy operable. A company should be able to delegate real work to software agents without losing the record of who decided what, under which policy and with which data. That is the layer we build, and the only thing we build.
North Star I
Proprietary technology, built in Switzerland
BRAIAN is our own product. The process engine, the policy model, the agent runtime and the audit log are written and maintained by our team in Lugano. We integrate best-of-breed models and infrastructure, but the operating layer itself is not assembled from someone else's platform.
This is what we are measured on. Every engineering hour, every release and every hire serves the product — its reliability, its governance and the evidence it produces for an auditor.

A European industrial group
To put the product where the work happens, we grow through operating companies in six European countries. They implement and run BRAIAN close to the customer, in their language and under their regulator.
This is a distribution and delivery structure, not a second business. It exists to serve North Star I.

Why Europe, and why now?
European companies are being asked to automate faster than their governance can follow. The models are available to everyone; the ability to run them inside a regulated process is not. That gap is where operating layers are decided, and it is open now.
Regulation is part of the reason. The AI Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nLPD) make the record of a decision as important as the decision itself. A company that cannot show how an automated outcome was produced cannot put that outcome into production.
We think this favours software built here, under these rules, by people who treat them as design constraints rather than compliance paperwork. Switzerland gives us legal stability and data residency; Europe gives us customers who need both. That is the bet ÆTERION is making.
